Job Offers
Offers may be made in person, over the phone or via mail. If you DO receive an offer:
- Try to give the firm some idea about when you plan to make a decision.
- Do NOT limit yourself. Make sure to take enough time to talk to all the firms you planned to before making a decision.
- Make sure you understand the terms of the offer completely.
- If you have questions about the offer, call the recruiter.
- When you have made your decision, write or call to inform the firm of your decision.
If you do NOT receive an offer:
- Try not to take it personally. Firms may have many more applicants than positions; sometimes hiring decisions are very difficult. Sometimes firms make mistakes and fail to make an offer to an outstanding candidate.
- Re-examine your interview approach and consider whether any changes are necessary.
- Be persistent. Remember that there are many firms.
- Be confident that you will find another position.
